Feature Request: “Stay X Nights, Get Y Night Free” Promotion Type
Problem
Currently, Hostfully promo codes only support:
• Percentage discounts, or
• Fixed dollar amount discounts
Many property managers want to run length-of-stay promotions such as:
• “Stay 3 nights, get the 4th night free”
• “Stay 7 nights, get 1 night free”
These promotions are extremely common in the short-term rental industry and are difficult (or impossible) to replicate accurately using percentage or fixed-amount discounts—especially when nightly rates vary.
⸻
Proposed Solution
Add a new promo code or pricing rule type:
“Stay X Nights, Get Y Night(s) Free”
This promotion would:
• Automatically apply once the minimum number of nights is met
• Discount the lowest-priced night(s) or a clearly defined night (configurable if possible)
• Work with variable nightly rates
• Apply cleanly to direct bookings without manual intervention
⸻
Why This Matters (Customer Impact)
• This is a highly requested, guest-friendly promotion that drives:
• Longer stays
• Higher occupancy during shoulder seasons
• More direct bookings
• Hosts frequently market these promos on their websites and social media but cannot fully support them in Hostfully today
• Workarounds (manual discounts, custom rates) increase admin work and risk pricing errors
⸻
Who Benefits
• Professional property managers
• High-end & luxury listings
• Hosts focused on direct booking growth
• Seasonal and destination markets
⸻
Example Use Case
A host wants to offer:
“Rent 3 nights, get the 4th night free”
With fluctuating nightly rates, the host cannot accurately calculate a percentage discount that reflects the true value of the free night. A native “free night” promo would solve this cleanly and transparently for both host and guest.
⸻
Success Metrics
• Increased use of promo codes
• Increased direct booking conversion
• Longer average length of stay
• Reduced manual discounting by hosts

extending stays are critical for us, this would be very helpful especially during the off-season.
