Model the direct booking checkout to be more like Airbnb. Allow pets to be entered on the first screen instead of after the fact as an upsell. Add a note under "book now" that indicates the guest won't be charged yet. Add a separate inquiry button so if the guest has a question they can be sure they are submitting it and will get a response. Currently with instant booking turned on, the host gets a notification every time someone clicks book now (but doesn't complete the reservation), but the guest is not aware of that and not expecting any type of follow up.
