Discount & Promotion Analytics in Hostfully Dashboard
The Hostfully analytics dashboard currently provides strong metrics such as:
Rental revenue
Nights booked
Average Daily Rate (ADR)
Occupancy rate
RevPAR
However, there is no visibility into discounts applied across bookings. This makes it difficult to measure the financial impact of promotions, manual discounts, or promo codes.
Problem
At the moment, there is no reporting that shows:
Total discounts applied
Promo code usage value
Revenue lost to discounts
Gross potential revenue vs discounted revenue
Without this data, it is difficult to evaluate whether discounts are driving incremental bookings or simply reducing revenue unnecessarily.
Requested Analytics
Add discount reporting within the analytics dashboard, including metrics such as:
Metric Description
Total Discounts Given Sum of all discounts applied across bookings
Discount % of Revenue Percentage of revenue reduced by discounts
Revenue Before Discounts Gross booking value before promotions
Revenue After Discounts Actual collected rental revenue
Promo Code Usage Number of times each promo code was used
Revenue Impact by Promo Code Discount value and resulting revenue per code

Operational Benefits
Revenue optimization
Understand how much revenue is being reduced through discounts.
Promotion ROI tracking
Identify which promo codes generate bookings vs those that simply reduce price.
Better pricing strategy
Measure the real effect of last-minute discounts, direct booking incentives, or negotiated rates.
Cleaner financial analysis
Compare full rate demand vs discounted demand.
Optional Enhancements
Additional insights that would be valuable:
Discount reporting by channel (Airbnb, VRBO, Direct, Booking.com)
Discount impact by date range or season
Breakdown between manual discounts vs promo codes vs automated rules
Why this matters operationally
For professional operators, the key metric is not just ADR or occupancy, but also discount leakage. Even a 5–10% untracked discount rate can significantly affect annual revenue and pricing decisions.
