A notification when a message is received
We find it hard to monitor new messages since there's no notification when a message is received. It would be best is there is a sound option or a push notification when there's new message receive even if the tab is not open at the moment of receiving the message.

Hey Rich & Fil! Thank you so much for your feedback.
We have filed 2 improvement tickets for the 2 issues:
1. The 2 new variables (Inbox message text & Inbox thread url) aren't displayed in the drop-down list for SMS template.
2, Currently, the trigger "New Message in Inbox" only supports these 2 variables because the message is thread-oriented, not lead-oriented (not binding to any leads). Therefore, other variables like guest's name, etc will not be working.
Once these tickets are completed, we will let you know immediately.
Regarding link shortener for SMS messages, I would advise that you raise a separate ticket in the forum. This allows other hosts to vote on your idea and helps us prioritize enhancements based on your real suggestions.

Also - I went to use Guest First or Full name as a variable, but they don't work for this trigger.
Was trying to give as much info in the SMS/Email notification, but it just shows the variable not the actual guest name when used.

@eric TY! I was able to setup and test the new trigger!
The only issue I had was the 2 new variables listed in the new guide don't existing in the drop down. I was able to manually type them in and they worked as expected.
For SMS messages, the link will usually be too long and SMS cuts it off, I wonder if Hostfully would consider using a URL shortener as an option so the link is functional? Thank you all for always improving Hostfully!! - Rich & Fil -

Thanks for your idea. I would like to inform you that this functionality does exist. You would need to create a custom template (something to alert you and your team about new messages) then create a trigger with the event "New Message in Inbox".

Having same issue, we want to give quick responses but don't know when messages comes into inbox. A trigger that we can configure to send email or sms would with great. Once there is a mobile app with notifications this could be less needed but until then...

Thank you for the feedback. To confirm, this is for a guest who books using the direct website, logs into the guest portal and sends a message from there? The message shows in the inbox within Hostfully, but the property manager is not notified of the new message via an email notification? They only realize the new message when logging into Hostfully and seeing a new message in their inbox?

Yes, why not just have the option to forward any or all messages from guests to an email account.

Ability to create a trigger which sends us an email when a guest messages through Hostfully regarding their booking.
