Improve booking updated trigger condition
While you can support sending notifications once a booking is updated, you are currently sending notifications to cleaners, guests, and owners for all changes made to the booking, including when payments are received which is not necessary. We need to notify the guests, owner, and cleaners when the booking has been modified such as when extending the booking or increasing the number of guests, but not when adding notes, or simply receiving payments.
We will have a new trigger entitled "Booking updated | date change" that will only fire if the booking has a change of check-in or checkout date. Then we'll also have the breakdown of "Booking updated | check-in date" and "Booking updated | checkout date" to dissociate between a change on check-in date vs checkout date.

Absolutely agree, a fundamental requirement of a booking system and having not long joined hostfully was surprised to find out that this isn't already SOP

AGREED - We have some owners that live on the property and like to know all the bookings, changes and cancellations but based on how they are set currently they receive a message to say, 'booking updated' even if its just a message between ourselves and the guests

Any time we change the dates of an existing reservation, change the amount of guests, we should ideally send a notification to the guest with the updated details.

I would love to get a message when someone makes a payment !

As a VRM and owner, I would like to get a notification when there's a change in checkin or checkout date only, not for number of guests.

I have a trigger set-up to send my cleaner a message when a booking has been revised, the intent is if dates change, and for some reason she is getting updates for lots of non related items.
I want a condition in triggers so she only gets updates when the dates change.

Has this been resolved? I am encountering this issue. We have had guest extensions, not only is the job that was created NOT adjusting to the new date, the cleaner is also not being notified of the change.
I believe the initial trigger to create the job needs refinement so the cleaner notification can then trigger to send a message about an change

We will often have a guest extend their stay a night or shift their dates. When this happens it would be great to have a trigger to send an automatic message (custom template) to our cleaner that informs them the dates of the reservation was changed and to make the change in their cleaning calendars. This will prevent a guest arriving and the house is not ready. Please agree and vote on this improvement! Thanks!

Hi Aidan. For now, we have an event "for booking updated" in the trigger. But the thing is, it will trigger whenever the booking is updated, not check-in/out specific. That could be a workaround for now.
Our team will consider adding a specific rule for the event of changing the check-in/out date based on the votes on this ticket

Hi Hostfully. I recently noticed a need for the function of being able to send SMS triggers to cleaners to notify them of a reservation date change update. New booking trigger and cancelled booking triggers have been working great but cleaners won't be notified when guests change their travel dates. In this case, the original booking isn't cancelled but just updated to a different date. So it would be great if you could add original/old check-in/-out dates variables on trigger templates so cleaner can receive a message like "unit 2. original date may 3- may 6. new date may 4 to may 7"
Thank you!
