  1. At least 85% of our guests book via our direct booking website. The majority of them stay with us for 2-6 months. They always want to pay for just 1 month at a time, but Hostfully requires them to pay for the entire stay up front. This scares some potential guests away because even though we explain that we can manually just charge them for 1 month at a time, all they see is the huge total amount for the entire stay when they do a search for their dates. Would love to have the option for our guests to use the link to pay any amount like when two guests split the bill in two or more, or when they can pay a certain amount at a time, instead of the strict amount based on our reservation payment policy (50% deposit, 50% balance. That said, when we send them the payment reminder, they can use the link in there and enter "x" amount.

    Thank you for submitting this idea. We have considered this in the past but this behavior comes with complexities. The question is whether we consider a property as booked on the first split payment and block the calendar or not:

    • if we do: a guest could pay $5 on a $1000 payment and the calendar will be blocked with a payment that does not meet the reservation amount threshold (putting the PM at risk)
    • if we do not consider it as booked until the whole $1000 is received, the PM could end up with 4 payments of $200 and the property is still available. Someone else could then end en booking the property and the PM is left with having to process 4 refunds.

    So this feature is definitely interesting but requires that particular threshold rules to be defined and the system behaviour to adapt to them.

  3. We should have the ability to Schedule Deposit payments, Refunds and credit card holds are an essential part of our practice. Hopefully should also work with payment systems to negotiate a refund on the transaction fees.

  5. Although VRBO already allows for security deposit collection, having something as well for Airbnb guests would be ideal! Automating a message 1-2 weeks prior to check-in, with a link to an invoice with deposit amount would be sufficient.

    It would be up to hosts to communicate properly with guests to set expectations that this invoice will be coming prior to their arrival.

If under property settings 100% of the payment is not collected at the time of reservation (i.e. certain percentage will be due x days prior to checkin), then pipeline won't show the option to "send balance payment request" until the payment due date which is x days prior to checkin date. manager should be able to send the balance payment request ahead of the due date and not wait for the payment due date to send the payment request.

  8. We would like to be able to choose Vacation Rent Payment as our payment processor so we can use different VRP accounts on the property level in Hostfully.
    Our accounting systems and processes and PMS we are transitioning from allowed us to use our multiple Vacation Rent Payment accts.
    As a PM, we would like to continue to offer this service to our owners for direct deposit into their accts.

  11. Allow users to include the $ amount collected to the rental agreement, as it is sometimes necessary during legal disputes, to show that amount.
    Renaming the rental agreement to "occupancy agreement" would also be a more acurate name, since renter laws such as rent control don't apply to Short Term Rentals.

  12. I would like to remove the word "Hostfully" in payment link - bottom line "By placing your order, you agree to Hostfully's privacy policy and terms and conditions".

    If the software is truly white labeled, you technically don't want the word "Hostfully" anywhere on pieces facing the customer.

  15. Right now, the only credit card information asked on the current payment processor work flow is card number, CVC and expiration date. Anyone with a stolen credit card can use this to pay and we have seen an increase in fraud chargebacks.

    We are requesting to add additional required fields in the payment page such as billing zip code, billing address, and card name to help filter out some fraud purchases.

  16. Make Damage/Security Deposits able to be 'PreAuthorized' and not a charge. This scares some Guests off.

  20. it'd a crutial feature for us. To export the transactions to an accounting software, I need to be able to build enhanced report templates that contain a column with the real transaction date for all types of payment methods. The fact that we cannot specify the exact date of a payment that has arrived on our bank account by other means than credit card is really problematic.
